2024 Impact Report
We’re delighted to share Space 4 Art’s 2024 Impact Report with you! Please explore the full report here and celebrate everything you've helped make possible. A few of our proudest accomplishments are highlighted below.
So far this past year, eight artists have led 64 workshops across six partner sites, resulting in more than 774 interactions with over 206 students. With each workshop custom tailored to the specific goals and needs of each site, the student-teacher interactions are very high quality and meaningful. One student from King-Chavez Primary Academy said, “I wish we could paint and have these classes during recess (also).”
Space 4 Art continued to provide affordable live/work studios for 44 artists, saving them over $171,000 in 2024. Our rental rate is 43% of the average cost of local residential space and 70% of commercial space. Resident musician Nick Lesley cited another benefit, stating, “As an experimental musician, I appreciate the support that Space 4 Art offers, as well as the community of artists and musicians.”
Over 700 guests have attended 12 free events so far in 2024, and we still have one more planned! This year we focused more intently on the affordable artist housing crisis during many of our events, and networked with a wide variety of civic and arts leaders about AB 812, California’s affordable artist housing bill, among other things.
We hope to see you all for our final Open Studios on Saturday, December 14 from 6-8:30 p.m. Please check our website for event details and performance schedules as that date approaches.
