Born in San Diego, she was a lady of many talents and interests. She is survived by her dearest friends, Notably Mariela Contreras, Natasha Kozaily, and Victoria Robertson ... and numerous others. Nina would also have thanked the big hearts of her beloved flat mates at Space4Art....

No, we cannot believe it Nina. We miss you and your generous and prodigious talent, your laughter and your humor. There will be an empty place here at Space4Art without you and, in your memory, we will endeavor to fill it with music and song. Thank you. Rest in Peace.

On October 31st 2019, Nina Leilani Deering hosted her own memorial. Who knew that 6 months later she would die in a tragic car accident on June 11th, 2020. Yet again Nina leaves us guessing and haunted by her beautiful voice and profound music.

This concert is special because it was one of her last. The moments and sentiments she shares between songs hit even harder. It was a bittersweet celebration of life and all the music she had composed and was hoping to release one day.

We are grateful to have this footage, a beautifully shot documentation by Justin Morrison of our beloved friend and fellow musician.
