2022 Impact Report

Space 4 Art’s 2022 Impact Report is here. Please read the full report and take pride in all the things you’ve helped us achieve! Below, we are spotlighting a few of our many accomplishments from this past year.

Lorena Gomez with students at Monarch School

Students from Monarch School in Barrio Logan made cyanotype zines with S4A artist Lorena Gomez.

In 2022, our artists led over 90 workshops across five school sites, interacting with more than 1,450 underserved students—many of whom are experiencing housing or food insecurity. Through these healing and expressive arts experiences, the students feel pride and joy as they immerse themselves in creativity.

During a period of rapidly escalating rents and inflation, Space 4 Art continues to provide affordable live-work studios in a dynamic, creative environment. In the words of resident artist Ryan Griffith, “Space 4 Art has given me a supportive artistic community. My time here has been transformative and essential to my artistic growth.”

Guests visit one of the shared studio during our September Open Studios event.

We’ve already hosted three Open Studio events for the community to mingle with and explore alongside our artists and musicians. We hope to see you all for our next Open Studios on Friday, December 9th from 7 to 9:30 PM! Please RSVP to let us know you’re coming and access information on parking near our East Village site.
